Meet Rosemary, a little over 2 yrs old, and deeply processing all the beautiful music experiences in class. Rosemary takes classes with her awesome caregiver, Janice. This spring is her family's third semester experiencing Music Together.
Glenda: We're now 6 weeks into Rosemary's third semester of Music Together. What do you see happening so far?
Janice: Rosemary is just doing it all now! She repeats everything I say and do. And honestly, this class isn't just helpful for her, it's helpful for both of us. I learn things, too, and I love that! I love that the focus is on making real music! I love all the different things we do, and all the different instruments each week.
Glenda: Does Rosemary seem to have a favorite Music Together song, and if so, how does she communicate that to you?
Janice: You know that tonal play we do at the end of the Hello Song? She loves that, and she will copy me whenever I do it. I do that outside of class a lot!
Glenda: Is there a favorite musical moment from class you'd like to share?
Janice: I think if I have to pick a favorite time in the class, it would be the free dance, and play along time with instruments. I love the diversity of music we all get to experience in the dance music especially. We dance all the time outside of class, too! (This comment of Janice's ties in beautifully with our planned education concept this week - just another unique benefit of Music Together. See "Why We Do It" below for a quick wrap-up of the concept.)
Glenda: What would you tell a friend about the Music Together program?
Janice: It's a great program! I spread the word, I can tell you that! It's a real music class. Rosemary loves her teacher and I appreciate such a wonderful attitude and patience with young children. And again, all this in a real music class! We love it!
Glenda: Thank you so much, Janice, for sharing your thoughts and experiences in music class! We're so glad you're with us!

*Get ready! Bring a stuffie: Week 9!*
ICYMI: Thinking about summer yet? Absolutely no pressure, but we'd like to know about it if you're interested in a summer class (or a new type of class called Rhythm Kids). Registration for summer class opens May 16.

As always, reach out with any questions or concerns. We love hearing from you, especially what you hear from your littles or from other family members! Savannah shared with us this week how hilarious it was at home coming into the room to see Magnus with his hands on his head wiggling for all he was worth along with Jumpin Josie! I don't know about you, but I can just see that! I caught Anne swaying in time this week during Dee De Dum, and Kevin saying the word, "Good-bye," as we were getting ready to sing it! Grownups, thank you SO much for letting us be there with you to experience some of these precious children's "firsts/seconds." You honor us in doing music with us each week! Oh, and Reece's mom, Kristin, shared how Reece is favoring a lot of classical music selections for listening at home. Which brings up another illustration from that Little Purple Book, pp. 32-33!
Have a great week, Everybody, we can't wait to see you and sing with you!
Musically yours,
Glenda Cloutier, Center Director and Teacher
