Making Music, Making Connections!
We hope you’re enjoying watching your children make new friends—and reconnect with familiar ones—through music! There’s something special happening as they begin to recognize and respond to songs they love.
You might already notice a few favorites emerging. Older children may confidently request a song or turn it into a playful game of “Name That Tune” by singing just a few notes. Younger, nonverbal children often show their excitement in their own way—kicking their legs, waving their arms, or lighting up when a beloved song begins.
When you see these moments, jump in and join the fun! Sing along, move with them, and share in their excitement. These little interactions matter more than they might seem.
Think about how language develops: when a baby says “Mama,” we naturally respond with excitement and encouragement—and that response helps language grow. Music works the same way! When your child hums, babbles, or moves to a beat (even if it’s not quite on pitch yet), your enthusiastic response helps their musical confidence blossom.
So go ahead—clap, sway, sing, and celebrate those tiny musical moments. You’re not just having fun… you’re helping your child build a lifelong love of music.
