Have you been wondering where the Brooks family has been this semester? Normally they fill our classes with so much joy bringing Bowman to classes. The Brooks family has visited almost every one of our classes at various times for make-ups, but you all may not know yet that Bowman now has twin brothers! Their family just expanded by leaps and bounds. We are so looking foward to having them back in class after things have settled down for them. A bit?

In case you aren't aware of these local resources, please check them out when you have a chance:
1) The Kid Creator Studio and Shop Gigi offers so much creativity here in Oak Ridge including art, music, parties, and more. You'll be amazed by her offerings as well as her beautiful website!
2) The Oliver Springs Public Library With so many cultural offerings provided by the Oak Ridge Library, you might easily overlook this charming option nestled in a quiet area just down the road in Oliver Springs. Don't be surprised to feel as if you've wandered into a previous era in time. If you like to grow things in your back yard, you can even pick up seeds there through a program helping local gardeners connect and share with their community. Posts on their website and social media point to their resources including regular kids' activities and reading programs. Best of all it's free to join! You will want to get to know Jessica, Library Director, who shares from the fountain of her knowledge with the greatest friendliness and care.
3) The Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra Operated by the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association with generous funding through the Tennessee Arts Commission and TN4ARTS, this local gem has been providing the residents of Oak Ridge with professional quality musical performances since the war-time era of its founding. Find out more about their offerings which include regular concerts along with educational programs for youth: Oak Ridge Youth Choir and Youth Choir Summer Camp, Oak Ridge Youth Orchestra and Summer String Camp.
Coming Up
Summer Session includes two classes beginning Tuesdays, June 9 for 4 weeks, and Fridays, June 12 for 5 weeks. Pricing: $80 for first child and $10 for 1st sibling (over 9 mos. and less that 6). Remaining siblings and siblings under 9 mos. attend free.
