Gina Godoy has been studying and playing music almost all of her life, which led her down the path of a career in music teaching. She graduated from Allegheny College (Meadville, PA) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music (piano) and went on to earn her Masters degree in Music Education at SUNY at Buffalo (Buffalo, NY) in 2010. She discovered her passion for early childhood music education during her graduate studies and went on to complete her Music Together teacher training. She did a two semester apprenticeship with Music Together of Hampton Roads in Virginia with Emily Brennan in 2011. After moving to the west coast in 2012, she began her own Music Together center in Hillsboro, OR. She taught parent/child music classes, preschool music classes, and had several private piano students. During this time, she had the privilege of earning her Level I teacher certification with Lilli Levinowitz, co-founder of Music Together. In 2016, she and her husband moved to East Tennessee and eventually settled in Oak Ridge in 2018. For the last five years she has been a stay at home mom to two beautiful children, but kept teaching Music Together classes at Bill Jones Music in Knoxville. Singing, dancing, and playing with children and their families has been one of her biggest joys. She's thrilled that Glenda has brought Music Together to the Oak Ridge community and looks forward to bringing music into the lives of young children and their families in the area!
